Chris Heisten
CFP®, Founder & Senior Wealth Advisor.
I began my career working with great people and families in 2007 focusing on Financial Planning with Merrill Lynch. I decided that I wanted a better life balance and joined the ranks of business owners/entrepreneur and broke away to join Raymond James Financial Services to own and run my own planning practice.
At Heisten Financial we like to consider ourselves a specialized boutique practice that loves to help good like-minded people achieve financial freedom.
Some of my passions include lake life with the family, watching my son and daughter play sports, spending time with my wife on whatever the next adventure is, fat tire biking, and golf.
I graduated from the University of Maine, where I earned a scholarship to play hockey and retired from professional hockey in 2007. In the community, I remain engaged in hockey where I serve as a youth hockey coach. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ awarded by the CFP Board.
William Wrenn

I began my career in financial planning in 2019. After exploring different options in our field, I decided the place for me was at Heisten Financial. Chris and I share the same views on how to run a practice and take care of our client’s financial needs.
We take tremendous pride in our client relationships and client service. No two clients are approached in the same way. We build individual financial plans and comprehensive portfolios based on our client’s goals.
My passions include spending time with my wife Carley, daughter Ella and our dog Taya, along with our extended family in Anchorage. I thoroughly enjoy golfing and fishing in my free time. I serve as an assistant coach with a local youth hockey team. The experience has been very rewarding as I try and help them pursue their own dreams.
My previous career was in professional hockey, which I was fortunate enough to play for 7 years. I am a patriot, so captaining the US National Team to a gold medal was the most rewarding moment of my journey. I was also honored to be chosen as captain of the Alaska Aces in my hometown of Anchorage. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a BBA in Finance. I was also awarded the Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ (AAMS®) designation from the College for Financial Planning. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ awarded by the CFP Board.
From my previous career, I focus on leveraging my competitive work ethic, integrity, and teamwork into our practice.
Jami Heisten

Jami embodies our core values of excellence and client focus; she genuinely cares for people and has a sincere interest in helping simplify our clients’ lives. At Heisten Financial, Jami is always looking for ways to create an even more impactful client experience. She is focused on making sure we are meeting clients’ needs beyond investment advice.
Jami enjoys spending time with her kids and husband, traveling, and taking every moment for what it has to offer.
Tristin McDonald
Client Relationship Manager
I’m someone who values connection, communication, and showing up for people, and that’s exactly what led me to my role as Client Relationships Manager at Heisten Financial. I love getting to know people, learning their stories, and helping make their experience with us as smooth and meaningful as possible.
I graduated from the University of Southeast Alaska and spent 17 years playing competitive ice hockey, including two years at the collegiate level. The sport shaped a big part of who I am, teaching me the importance of discipline, resilience, and being a team player both on and off the ice.
Outside the office, you can find me spending time with my husband, traveling, hiking, or enjoying just about any outdoor activity. I believe life is about relationships and shared experiences, and I carry that same mindset into the work I do with our clients.
What I love most about being part of Heisten Financial is the emphasis we place on truly knowing and caring for the people we serve. Every client relationship is unique, and I’m proud to help create a space where people feel heard, supported, and confident about their financial journey.
